Policy Scope
This warranty (“Warranty”) is offered by Greentec Auto Limited (“We”, “Us”, “Our”) for hybrid and electric vehicle batteries (“Product”) sold and/or installed by Greentec Auto Limited in the United Kingdom.
This Warranty is provided in addition to, and does not affect, your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable legislation. Your statutory rights are your primary guarantee, and this commercial Warranty is designed to offer benefits beyond those rights.
1. Warranty Promise
We warrant that our Product will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for the duration of the Warranty Period. “Normal use and service” means use of the Product in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s guidelines, without modification, misuse, or abnormal operating conditions.
2. Warranty Period
- The Warranty Period begins on the date of purchase and continues for the term specified on your original sales invoice.
- There is no mileage limit during the Warranty Period.
- The Warranty Period is not extended or restarted if a Product is repaired, replaced or transferred
3. Warranty Transfer
This Warranty is transferable to a new private owner of the vehicle in which the Product was installed.
Conditions:
- The transfer must occur within 30 days of the vehicle’s sale.
- You must provide Us with a copy of the vehicle’s bill of sale, showing the date of sale and the new owner’s details, within this 30-day period.
- Only one (1) warranty transfer is permitted per Product and within the warranty term.
- The Product must remain on the original vehicle. The Warranty is void if the battery is sold separately from the vehicle.
4. Our Obligation (What We Will Do)
If a Product is found to be defective within the Warranty Period, We will, at our discretion and expense, either repair or replace the Product.
- Installation: If the original service included installation by a Greentec Auto technician, the repair or replacement service will also include installation at no additional labour cost at your nearest Greentec Auto Premises.
- Shipped Products: For Products that were shipped to you or a third-party installer, this Warranty covers the repair or replacement of the Product only. We are not liable for any third-party labour, diagnostic, or removal/installation charges.
5. Warranty Exclusions
This Warranty does not cover failure or defects resulting from:
- Improper Installation: Any installation not performed by a Greentec Auto certified technician or not in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s specifications.
- Storage: Products stored, either in or out of the vehicle, for 60 days or more without use.
- External Damage: Physical damage, collision, abuse, or misuse occurring after you have taken delivery of the Product.
- Shipping Damage: Damage caused during shipping that was not reported to Us within 48 hours of delivery.
- Tampering: Removal, damage, or alteration of any warranty or identification labels.
- Vehicle Modifications: Any modification or bypass of the vehicle’s electrical or battery management systems.
- Improper Use: Installation or use of the Product in a different vehicle from the one for which it was originally purchased and installed.
- Neglect: Including, but not limited to, failure to service or repair the vehicle in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommended schedule, or continued operation of the vehicle after warning indicators are displayed.
- Force Majeure: Any condition beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to floods, fire, acts of God, or terrorism.
6. Core Unit Return
Our pricing and warranty are conditional upon the return of the old battery (“Core Unit”) from your vehicle.
- The complete Core Unit must be returned to Us within 30 days of the new Product installation.
- If a core charge was paid at the time of purchase, it will be refunded upon our receipt of the complete and undamaged Core Unit. Missing modules or components will void the core refund.
- Failure to return the Core Unit within 30 days will result in the forfeiture of your core charge deposit. This does not void your Product warranty.
7. How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you suspect a fault, please contact our Customer Support team at 0808 196 6398 or warranty@greentecauto.co.uk.
To help us diagnose the issue, you must provide:
- Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) from the vehicle’s On-Board Diagnostics (OBD-II) system.
- The report must include the vehicle’s VIN, date, and the details of the professional garage that retrieved the codes.
- All DTCs present in the vehicle’s systems must be reported.
Failure to provide a complete DTC report may delay or invalidate a claim. If our technicians attend your vehicle and find that the reported codes are incorrect, or that the fault is not with our Product, a diagnostic call-out fee may be charged.
8. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in this Warranty shall limit or exclude our liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- Any breach of the terms implied by sections 9 to 11 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose, and as described).
Subject to the above:
- Our maximum liability under this Warranty shall be limited to the original purchase price of the Product.
- We shall not be liable for any business losses (such as loss of profit) or for any indirect or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable to both parties at the time the contract was formed.
9. Governing Law
This Warranty, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the law of England and Wales
