Lexus CT 200h Hybrid Battery Replacement UK

When a Lexus CT 200h hybrid battery starts to weaken, the car usually tells you before it stops. The petrol engine runs more often, the fuel figures slip, and the drive feels less smooth than it used to.

Greentec Auto UK provides Lexus CT 200h hybrid battery replacement for UK cars registered from 2011 to 2021. Every job starts the same way. We check your registration number, model year and engine details, confirm which battery fits your car, and explain the next step before any work is booked.

Lexus CT 200h Battery Replacement: 2011 to 2021

This category covers the Lexus CT 200h, the 1.8 litre self-charging hybrid hatchback. It is the only version of the CT that Lexus built, so every CT on UK roads is a CT 200h. Cars covered here include:

  • 2011 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2012 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2013 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2014 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2015 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2016 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2017 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2018 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2019 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2020 Lexus CT 200h
  • 2021 Lexus CT 200h

The CT went on sale in the UK in 2011 and has since been discontinued by Lexus, with the last cars reaching UK roads at the end of the run. The model had one main update in 2014 and a second styling update for the 2018 model year, so a late car is not built exactly like an early one.

Model name and registration year on their own do not confirm which battery fits. We check the vehicle record before anything is ordered. View the 2011-2021 Lexus CT 200h battery replacement and speak to the team first with your registration number and model year to hand.

What Battery Does the Lexus CT 200h Use?

The CT 200h uses a 202 volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack of around 1.3 kWh. It is cooled by a fan and sits in the rear of the car, under the boot floor. The pack works with a 1.8 litre four-cylinder petrol engine and an electric motor, which together give the car a system output of 134 bhp through an automatic e-CVT gearbox.

The CT 200h is a self-charging hybrid, not a plug-in. The battery is topped up by the engine and by braking, so there is no charging cable and no socket to worry about. Lexus quotes electric-only running of up to about 1.5 miles at speeds up to 28 mph when the battery is healthy.

That small pack does a lot of work. It takes charge every time you slow down and gives it back every time you pull away. Years of that cycle are what wear it out.

Signs Your Lexus CT 200h Hybrid Battery May Need Attention

Hybrid battery wear is gradual. Most CT owners notice the change in how the car behaves before they see anything on the dashboard.

  • The petrol engine starts more often and stays on longer, especially on short trips
  • Fuel economy drops from what the car used to return
  • The battery gauge climbs and falls faster than it once did
  • Less electric assistance when pulling away from a stop
  • The change between electric and petrol power feels rougher
  • The cooling fan in the boot area runs louder or more often
  • A hybrid system or battery warning light appears

None of these on its own proves the battery has failed. The same symptoms can come from the cooling fan, the 12 volt battery, a sensor or another part of the hybrid system. Greentec Auto UK does not recommend a replacement on one symptom alone. The car is assessed first.

Choosing the Correct Lexus CT 200h Hybrid Battery

The high-voltage battery does not work on its own. It talks to the battery management system, the electric motor and the petrol engine, so a replacement has to match the car properly.

A pack that is not right for the vehicle can cause communication faults, poor performance or further hybrid system problems. The replacement should also be tested before it goes in, so its condition is known rather than assumed.

Fitting matters just as much. These packs carry high voltage and need the right tools, the right safety steps and people who work on them regularly. Our process covers compatibility checks, battery testing, careful installation and system checks after the work is finished.

You can read our battery warranty policy for general cover and conditions. The exact cover for your car is confirmed with the battery you choose. If you want to understand how manufacturer cover works alongside this, our guide to hybrid battery warranties in the UK explains the rules in plain terms.

Ben and George are absolutely amazing! I came in after learning my Toyota Hybrid battery needed replacing. They took me through the work that needed doing, took photos of the process and repaired my hybrid battery. Since having the work done, my car drives smoothly and I feel confident driving it again! If you’re looking for a hybrid battery replacement in and around Manchester, this is your place.

I am one of Greentec earliest customers in Manchester. They replaced my Tesla model 3 performance battery. The full range is back to 303 miles. Ben kept in close contact during the process. The car runs perfectly. Highly professional, very skilled and significantly lower cost the Tesla. I highly recommend their services

Meeting Ben and George was a great experience, both incredibly friendly, enthusiastic and clearly knew their stuff – Took me through the whole process and were greatly accommodating as well. Picking the car up was an equally great experience, showed me top to bottom how they’d diagnosed the issue, what they’d found (some components may as well have been charcoal they were that corroded), how they fixed it and included pictures of the whole process. Thanks again guys, great stuff.

Their technical knowledge of Tesla vehicles was very reassuring, and it was clear they knew exactly what they were doing. The cost was also very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the work and the level of expertise involved. Everything was handled efficiently and professionally, and the car was back on the road quickly. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the service I received and wouldn’t hesitate to use Greentech Auto again in the future. Highly recommended for anyone needing reliable and knowledgeable EV service.

A massive thanks to Ben and George We came to you after our bmw x5 showed problems with the charging system BMW at Sheffield wanted to charge us 5k for the repair to the battery safety box. We also tried two independents at Sheffield neither were interested in diagnosing the problem. Ben and his team came way under the quoted price from bmw and talked me through what was needed, kept me informed of every step of the repair We now have a car that is in fully working order. I would highly recommend anyone with a problem with a EV to try greentec Very happy customer

Frequently Asked Questions

This category covers Lexus CT 200h cars registered from 2011 to 2021. The CT 200h was the only version Lexus made, so all UK CT models use the same 1.8 litre self-charging hybrid system. Compatibility is still confirmed for each car before a battery is supplied.

The Lexus CT 200h uses a 202 volt nickel-metal hydride battery pack of around 1.3 kWh. It is fan cooled and sits in the rear of the car under the boot floor. It works with a 1.8 litre petrol engine and an electric motor for a combined 134 bhp. The CT 200h is a self-charging hybrid, so the pack is charged by the engine and by braking rather than from a plug.

There is no fixed figure. Lexus says battery life depends on how the car is used, how it is driven and how well it is maintained. As a guide to what the manufacturer stands behind, Lexus UK covers the hybrid battery for up to 10 years or 100,000 miles through qualifying services, and owners can then extend that cover a year at a time with an annual Hybrid Health Check until the car is 15 years old. Many CT batteries are still working well past those points, and some need attention sooner.

The most common signs are the petrol engine running more often, worse fuel economy, a battery gauge that moves up and down quickly, weaker electric assistance when pulling away, rougher changes between electric and petrol power, a louder cooling fan, and hybrid system warning lights. These signs can also point to other parts of the hybrid system, so the car should be checked before a battery is replaced.

Greentec Auto UK replaces Lexus CT 200h hybrid batteries at its workshop in Trafford Park, Manchester, and takes enquiries from drivers across London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds and Liverpool. Call 0808 1966398 with your registration number and model year, and the team will confirm which battery suits your car before you travel.
